Dear Forum: A Ms. Carol Santos from the Family Tree Maker Forum found the following information for me during a query in Boston:
HI KIM,This is what I was able to find 1880 census flat creek, mecklenburg va. head-hart eubank/27/black/farmer/bp va (my ggrandfather) wife-liza/26/mulatto/bp va. (my great grandmother) dau-mary/4/mulatto/bp va. dau-sallie/2/mulatto/bp va
1910 buckhorn mecklenburg Va. head-eliza/widow/55/black/farmer/bp va son-jonnie/23/black/working out/bp va (my grandfather) son-albert/19/black/home farm/bp va son-william p/16/black/home farm/bp va dau-mattie/13/black/home farm/bp va son-harry/11/black/home farm/bp va mother-mary hudson/90/mulatto/bp va (my great great grandmother) son in law-willis alcocks/widow/38/mulatto/carpenter/bp ny grand dau-? alcocks/3/mulatto/bp ma. I was unable to find william or john in later census but i hope this helps you. carol Willis Alcocks was married to Eliza's sister Sallie Cole Hudson. However, she is deceased by 1910 and Willis is a widower. The name Sallie Cole, and Sally Cole has been passed down to other family members through many relatives as a reminder of our ancestor and my great great grandmother Mary Hudson's mom Sallie Cole who lived on the Baskerville Plantation, in Mecklenburg Virginia. Mary had two other sisters that I know of named Martha and Amanda. Sallie Cole's mother was named Fanny and also lived on the Baskerville plantation. My mother passed away two years ago, and my dad ten years prior. So, I do not know of any Eubank(s) or Alcock relatives from my dads side. I have found out that Willis Alcock and Sallie had a daughter named Ester who was born around 1905 but that's where my info ends. My grandfather John moved to NJ (where I grew up), others went to NY and Boston. I hope to make a connection one day.
