Brothers Thomas Alcock and George Alcock came in 1630 with Winthrop's Fleet. According to the Winthrop Society and other sources, George resided in Roxbury, he was a butcher, 1st wife was Anne Hooker d 1630, son John, 2nd wife Elizabeth d 1641, son Samuel.
According to the New England Hist. & Gean. Register 1943 #97, pg 10: The Alcocks of Roxbury Mass. by G. A. Moriarty "Dr. George Alcock and his brother Thomas Alcock, came from England in the first company that settled in Massachusetts in 1630. They had a sister, Elizabeth Whitehead, living at Leamington, co Warwick, England, in 1647, whose children were then in New England. There can be small doubt but that they came from either the county of Leics., Wars., or Northants., and it is tempting to suggest that they are identical with the brothers, George Alcock and Thomas Alcock, who had a sister Elizabeth, and who appear in the pedigree of Alcock of Sibbertoft in the Visitation of Northamptonshire at this time, but proof is lacking."
Thomas was the 9th great grandfather of my wife, Elizabeth Alcott. Author Louisa May Alcott was Thomas's 6th great granddaughter and my wifes 3rd cousin thrice removed.
