Hello, I am Sergio Aldana from Northwest Indiana.I will start by telling a little about my family. My grandfather was a migrant worker from Monterrey, NL (MX).He along with his brothers traveled throughout the US, working. His travels included the areas of Texas, Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan. The majority of his children ended up in Northwest Indiana. The exception is my uncle who lives in Monterrey, NL.There are Aldana's here in the Northwest Indiana area, all of which are my relations. My other relatives (that I know of) reside in Monterrey and in Texas. There are several Aldana's in the city of Chicago, IL.However, to the best of my knowledge they are not related to me. I have read some of the messages on the forum and came across an Aldana from Spain who stated that the name was of Basque origin. How interesting. The little research I have done came up with the results that the name "Aldana' is Italian meaning,"...a dweller near a black alder tree...".I am wondering if any other Aldana has come up with additional information regarding the origin of the name "Aldana".I am also wondering if anyone has information on a Coat of Arms for Aldana. If the name is European (Basque, Italian, etc.), then there may be a Coat of Arms. I am looking forward to hearing from anyone with "Aldana" information on the forum. Respectfully, Sergio Aldana.
