Alday Sr., John posted September 23, 2002 John L. Alday Sr., 60, Tunnel Hill, died Sunday, September 22, 2002, in a local hospital. He had been a resident of North Georgia for 26 years coming from Cedar Spring, Ga. Mr. Alday was a member of the Plumber and Steamfitters Union Local #72 and also a member of the Salem Masonic Lodge # 267 F&AM in Donalsonville, Ga. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Alday; son, John Alday Jr., Tunnel Hill; daughters, Pam Reed, Dalton, Marcia Alday and Angie West, both of Tunnel Hill, and Shannon Chandler, Dalton; brothers, Russell Alday, East Point, Fla., Jimmy Alday, Sneads, Fla., and Thomas Alday, Blountstown, Fla.; sisters, Betty Jean Strickland, Sneads, Fla., Mary Lena Neel, Chattahoochee, Fla.; eight grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews; and special friend, Marty Hutcherson, Tunnel Hill. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Darey Kittle officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Childrens Hospital. Visitation will be after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
