The Colemans were from Stephentown, And I thought there might possibly be a connection since they ended up about five miles from Zopher. They were connected with the Strattons and Darlings also, it seems. That's all.
Zophar d. 1855 in Berlin Tp., Ionia Co.,MI, and is buried just inside the twp. Just across the highway is Orange Twp, section 26where the Colemans (with a Stratton wife) and the Darling3v(aka Darling Stratton) lived, almost straight down the road (Grand River Ave) from where Z. Alderman is buried. Same tier of sections. It's also about fourmiles from the Grinnells (Orange, sec. 27).(see below)
As for William Alderman, we have one in Ionia CO whom we think is connected to Zopher.
Ionia Co MI 1850 census all in the same household in Berlin Twp:
Wm. R. and was 27 b NY in the 1850 census, with William,2 b. MI, Zopher, 64 (b. CT), Samuel 29, b NY Mary 17 b. NY Elizabeth .5, b MI Deborah, 57 b NY Alvin O 21 b NY
Aldermans in the Alderman/Allman/Schnabelcemetery: Amelia d. 9-6-1863 wife of A.O. age 55-9-10 Deborah d. 2-2-1863 age 73 William R. d. 9-9-1869 age 16 Zopher d 9-20-2865 age 80-1-12
In my family:
Sophronia Alderman (nee Grinnell) b 1823 NY d. Feb 12, 1899 Cadillac, MI bur. Portland, MI (next twp. over from Orange) m. to Erastus D.Alderman (1816-11-3-1886) bur. Portland, MI
also William Alderman (dec. before 1910 census) (no dates right now on Wm) m. Emily Rust Keeler b. 4-21-1826 NY res. 1910 North Plains Tp, second Twp. N of Orange Tp d. 5-10-1915 Ionia CO, MI North Plains, Ionia Co, MI bur. North Plains Cem. There is also a Hinman in this lot, as well as Isaac Keeler.
These two are most likely connected to each other since:
*Emily was a Keeler.
*Sophronia Grinnell had a brother, John, who m. Sarah Jane Keeler.
*Sophronia Grinnell m. Erastus D. Alderman So, two Aldermans and two Keelers connected with the Grinnells.
