There was a blacksmith named Tom Alderman who repaired wheels, wagons, etc. for the Confederacy during the Civil War. One of the Generals was said to have remarked that Tom Alderman was going to have a lot of work after a particularly tough battle. I don't know if he worked directly for Robert E. Lee. It is a possability since the Lees owned land that was adjacent to land in the Burks Fork, VA that was originally owned by Jacob Alderman. Who was Thomas T. Alderman's father?
