Another Samuel B. Alderson -- Samuel B. Alderson, born June 1850 in Missouri, believed to be the son of Benjamin A. (born ca. 1811 in Maryland) and Mary L. (born ca. 1822 in Virgina), married in 1772-1773, Boyle Couunty, Kentucky, to Ann/Nannie B. Barbee, born April 1849, daughter of Joseph (Joshua) James Barbee and Mary Jane Ortkies. By 1880, Samuel and Nannie were in Mason County, KY, with four children, Samual shown as a Minister. By the 1900 census, the family was in Scioto County, Ohio with three of their five living children. Mary Jane Barbee, as Mother-in-law, age 68, born Feb. 1832 (this is wrong-- she's age 71, born Feb. 1829) has joined the family. The 1910 census finds the family in Atchison County, Missouri.Samuel, still a Presbyterian Minister, and Nannie, both age 60, daughter, Elizabeth, age 24, and Mary Jane Barbee, age 80.The family, soon moves to Topeka, Shawnee County, Kansas, where, I assume, Samuel's ministry has brought them.Mary Jane died 7-14-1913 in Topeka. Nannie and Samuel are found there in the 1920 census, both age 69, Samuel a Presbyterian Minister. They are not found on the 1930 census.
This is not my line. I have no further Alderson infomation. Linda J. Louisville, KY
