Carl, I read your message on the forum. It was the query about the connection between Dunham Cass/Case and Timothy Aldrich about 1800. I descend from Timothy Aldrich Jr. (1795? - ?) and his first wife Temperance Aldrich, through his daughter Almira Aldrich (1826-1898) who married Abram Faust.Almira Aldrich is buried in Cogswell, North Dakota in the Sargent County Cemetery(well taken care of stone).Orson Faust(Foust), (1858-1928), the only son of Almira and Abram was my maternal great-grandfather.His eldest daughter Iona Foust McGinnis (1880-1969) was who maternal grandmother who raised me.My own mother, Hazelle McGinnis Conder, (1911-) is still living and stays with me here in Missouri.
My line from Timothy Aldrich Jr. is:
Timothy Aldrich jr. Almira Aldrich Faust Orson Faust Iona Faust McGinnis Hazelle McGinnis Conder Warner Conder (me)
We do not know the maiden name of Timothy Aldrich Sr.'s wife Lucina.Might she have been a Durfee? Could she have been a Cass? My grandmother knew her grandmother Almira Aldrich well and Almira told her that she had French blood. The name Durfee sounds French. Lucina's tombstone in the Foust or Mound Cemetery says that she died in her 70 th year.I have not been there but I had the information sent to me by Cuba Foust Vance who lived there. The DAR (Smithsonian Institution Publication) cited Timothy Aldrich Sr. in 1943 as having been an American Revolutionary veteran.Where did they get their information?I have never found any records of his service although his age would have coincided with the American Revolution. None of this probably helps you with your search. However, I would like to share information with you and hhelp discover what we can about the Timothy Aldrich line. Almira Aldrich told my grandmother that her father Timothy, Jr. was in the armed services. Her step-mother who who must have been the hated Sophia Russell, made her work at the spinning wheel all day so she left home and married Abram Faust in 1845.I did find a book that said a Timothy Aldrich served in the War of 1812 out New York. The information about his service record was scanty. Thanks, Warner Conder P.O. Box 773 Ellington, Mo. 63638 (573) firstname.lastname@example.org
