Hon. Charles N. Aldrich, curator of the Iowa Historical Society, died at Boone, Iowa, last Sunday in the 80th year of his age. No citizen of the state was more widely known and honored. The funeral will be held at the Iowa Hall of History, the mammoth building erected by the state on Capital Hill in Des Moines at the request of Mr. Aldrich, and which will stand as a monument to his labors in the historical work of Iowa. It is said that building contains the most valuable historical and archeological collection to be found outside the Smithsonian Institute at Washington. The collection represents the life work of Mr. Aldrich.
