Joan, I read your message on the genealogy forum. I descend from Timothy Aldrich, Jr. through his daughter Almira (1826-18980 who married Abram Faust(foust).Their only son Orson, was born in Limeridge, Sauk Co. Wisconsin (1858-1928) and his oldest daughter, Iona Foust McGinnis (1880-1969) was born there also. The Fousts moved to Oakes, North Dakota area in 1883.My mother, Hazelle McGinnis, was born in 1911 and is still living. My grandmother Iona knew her grandmother Almira well.Almira is buried in the Sargent Co. Cemetery, Cogswell, North Dakota, where my greatgrandparents are also buried. Timothy Aldrich, Sr. (1762-1837) may have served during the American Revolution but I have seen no documentation to that effect. The DAR cited him as an American Revolution War veteran in 1943 so there must have been a record somewhere. He was the right age for the Revolution. My grandmother told me that Almira had French blood in her. That would had to have come through Lucina, second wife of Timothy Sr.I didn't know that he even had a second wife.I don't know Lucina's maiden name but she died in her 70th year in 1836 and is buried next to Timothy Sr, in the Foust or Mound Cemetery, Delaware Co. Ohio.I have been trying to discover the parentage of Timothy, Sr.I read on an email that his parents were Abram and Ruth Sheldon of Smithfield, Rhode Island.I would like to see a source for this information and also of Timothy's military service.I won't bombard you with any more information at this point. If you need bits and pieces of information on my Aldrich-Foust line please let me firstname.lastname@example.org(Warner Conder, P.O. Box 773, Ellington, Mo. 63638)Thanks!
