This woman became a Mormon somewhere along her journey in life and was in Nauvoo, IL in 1845/46.She may be the Sarah ALDRICH that married Moses MARTIN (as per Debbie Martin's messages on thet Aldrich forum).
The Sarah I am seeking had her name recorded as ALDRIDGE when she was married to Caleb HAIGHT in Nauvoo, IL in 1846.(She would have been about 56 years old at the time.)There is evidence that she left Nauvoo with her husband and arrived in the Great Salt Lake Valley in 1847 with other HAIGHT family members traveling in the Ira ELDREDGE company.
Caleb HAIGHT moved to Farmington, UT and died in 1851.There is no record of what happened to Sarah.Did she only marry Caleb as a protection while crossing the plains?Did she move on with her own child/children?Was she one of the pioneers who died during the first winter in the valley and was buried in a hasty grave in the fort?
Can anyone help me?I hope so!!!!
P.S.Another woman named Sarah SAGERS is on the church records from Nauvoo, IL, and she has the same birthdate at Sarah ALDRIDGE (ALDRICH) HAIGHT: 16 Feb 1789.Sarah ALDRIDGE (ALDRICH) gives her birthplace at New Ashford, Bershire, MA.Debbie Martin lists her Sarah ALDRICH as being born in Lisbon, Grafton, NH.Are they close to each other?(It's atlas time, I guess.)
