I just received the pension files for Prince William from the Alabama Department of Archives and History.According to the pension files Prince William was born April 16, 1832 at Eldridge, Walker County, AL.He served in Co I of the 11th Regiment of the Alabama Confederate Forces.He enlisted on June 11, 1861 at Fayette.He was promoted to 5th Serg't on Jan 1, 1863. He was present at the Battle of Seven Pines on May 31, 1862 and Salem Church on May 3, 1863.He was wounded on July 2, 1863 at Gettysburg when he was shot in the right elbow.The wound stiffened his arm and greatly impaired its use.He was absent wounded from Gettysburg ln July 3, 1863 and Mine Run Nov 30, 1863 and absent sick Wilderness May 6, 1864 to the end of the war.He was honarably discharged on July 8, 1864 (one page says April 3, 1864 near Orange Court House, VA).He was a miller, farmer, and carpenter.He was married on Nov 5, 1868 to Patsy V (Vashti?) Robertson(daughter of Jim Robertson) by J. B. Thompson, Justice of the Peace.He was listed in the 1907 Civil War Veterans of Lamar County Alabama.Prince William died Jan 25, 1916 (one page says 1917) at Crews Depot.I think he is buried at Mt. Hebron Methodist Church, Lamar County, AL.According to what I have found he and Patsy had no children.(If I am wrong about that please someone let me know.)Hope this helps.
