Hi Pam. My name is Pam too :^). I saw your posting on the Aldridge genealogy forum and have some information that might interest you. We have a large Arledge family that were once Aldridge but the spelling changed in the 1700s for the most part, However, in some areas (especially Alabama) the name went back to Aldridge. Confusing, isn't it?
I've been trying to track down all these ancestors by any spelling and build a family tree--they are all descended from Clement Aldridge who settled in VA in the 1660s.
I'm sending you by email the ancestry of Seth Mac (son of John L. and Cynthia Aldridge, son of William Nicholas and Susan McDowell Aldridge/Arledge, son of Samuel and Mary/Molly Arledge who first settled in Coosa Co, AL, son of Moses and Huldah Arledge of SC, etc.
I would appreciate your sending me what you can on your branch of the family with more current details (births, marriages, spouses, children, deaths, etc--I like dates and locations when known). You can learn more at the Arledge Family History Project website at http://www.geocities.com/wilson_pamhttp://www.geocities.com/wilson_pam.
