My husband's gt.gt.grandfather was William Aldridge of High Wycombe, so it looks like you have found another relative! His grandfather was your Eleanor's brother, Joseph Richard Leopold (yes, another chairmaker!) He may have gone to Canada but can't have stayed very long, and my mother in law (his daughter) doesn't think he ever did go there. She mentions Joseph's brothers Sidney andWesley (William?)who went to Canada, and of his son Wesley who came home during the war to visit.William Aldridge (b.1822) was born in Amersham and I may have found his first marriage but can't be certain. In the 1881 census he, Susan ,Jabez,Joseph and Annie were at 244 Totteridge Road H.W.and in 1891 they were at 19 Totteridge Road (minus Jabez). I was born in Beaconsfield, and my maiden name was Saunders! My father's family are all Welsh, though, came down to H.W. to look for work in about 1934.My parents, mother in law and my two sisters in law still live in HW and I lived there for many years. We now live in Hampshire. Hope this helps a little!Glynis.
