I have bits and pieces of this Alewine/Mitchell family.
Reference: Two Bibles Lillian Alewine Price King family Bible Randolph Price (d. August 26, 1994) family Bible (son of Lillian--name at birth, Ira Randloph, changed later to Randolph Ira)
Lillian Estelle Alewine (b. 3-25-19120, d. 1981) married William Ernest Price (b. 9-8-1907, d. 3-2-1935). Lillian was the daughter of (Rev.) Joseph Addison Alewine and Ira Willie (or Willie Ira) Mitchell, daughter of Martha McCook and Jim (James) Mitchell.Grandma Mitchell died and Papa Alewine remarried "Susie." Also noted is that Joseph's father was Jim (James?) William and that he died at age 54 in 1923.He was married to Mamie Riller Alewine who died in September of 1941.(I believe Mamie may have married Everette Mitchell (brother to Willie Ira?) after the death of her husband Jim. -----
Names, notes and rambling conversations that come up in this line produce the following comments: Bannister (thought to be mother's maiden name of Jim Alewine) When Jim married Mamie, she was his "3rd wife." James Alewine, son of Jim and Mamie Alewine. When Rev. JA (Joseph Addison) married Willie Ira (or Ira Willie) there was some disagreement about the marriage.Allegedly she was much younger that JA, and from what was considered a "well-to-do" family.(see the naming of Mitchell County Georgia family ref.)
Susie was close in age to her stepdaughter, Lillian, when she married Rev. JA Alewine. Family refers to her as a wonderful" grandmother.
Essie,Andrew, Margaret, Lena and Dave, (Joseph Addison's brothers and sisters--half?) Margaret married a "Harper" Essie married a "Duncan"
Lena (Whitaker)? half sister to Dave and Essie?
Eulla (sp?) Mitchell, sister to Willie (?) Eulla's daughter, Rosene.
Lee Mitchell, brother to Willie and Eulla?A barber whose shop was on Peachtree Street in Atlanta.
