My husband's grandmother was Martha E. Alewine (1870-1937). Martha was a sister of your Thomas, who married Annie Brady. There were six other children, Mary L, born 1871, William E, born Oct. 24, 1973, Riley, born 1875, Rosie Etta Minerva, born 1877; Arron Richard, born Feb. 26, 1882; and Ethel born 1884. Parents of Martha and Tom (and the other six)were Elisha Alewine born 1849, died after 1930, and Susan Elizabeth Carpenter, born 1849, died July 24, 1913. The Alewine line descends from John George Alewine (1700-1768) born in Germany, arrived in Charleston, S.C. in 1752. Have some information on Tom and Annie's family, dates, etc., and some on descendants of John George Alewine, down to their generation. Will be happy to exchange information that we have, either by e-mail or to this forum. Would love to know more about the whole family.Obtained a lot of info from Suzanne and Kevin Alewine who have posted quite a bit on this forum, especially the older generations. Anxious to hear from anyone who is familiar with this family.
