Hello, Mark, Bruce, and all Peden researchers.

I am a descendant of Alexander ALEXANDER (b. abt. 1750) and Anna McRORO, Spartanburg Co, SC. On the Spartanburg Genweb pages, Alexander and Annie are seen to be located on the Tyger River, which we know is where Mary Peden and James Alexander received a 500 acre land grant. We also know from Peden records that James and Mary had a son named Alexander ALEXANDER, as well as 12 other children. My ancester was John ALEXANDER, (b.April 16,1777) s/o Alex and Annie. John married Isabella ADAIR, d/o Rebecca MONTGOMERY/James ADAIR, from Laurens Co, SC, and subsequently moved to Butler County, Ohio, and thence to Miamisburg, Montgomery County, in 1803. There he studied law, and was admitted to the bar and commenced practice in 1804. He moved to Xenia, Greene County, Ohio, in 1803.

My lineage would be Ruth> John "Lester"> Madison> John> John/Isabella. I am in contact with a few desc. of John and Isabella ALEXANDER's line, and have forwarded this Peden information on to them. It certainly would appear that there are many more desc. of James and Mary Peden Alexander's line to yet be researched, and entered into the "House of Mary".

Regards,
Karen
