My 4th great grandfather, James Bell, wrote his will in 1819, and it was probated in 1820, in Mecklenburg County, NC. He stated that he was "late of the County of Cabarrus now in Mecklenburg & State afsd." In the will, he mentions his daughter "Alizabeth," wife of Thomas Alexander, as well as sons Walter, James and William Bell, and grandchildren James and Isabell Bell (both children of Walter).
Elizabeth (1776-1842) and Thomas Alexander (1771-1845) are buried at the Coddle Creek Presbyterian (now A. R. P.) Church on the border between Cabarrus and Iredell County, NC, near Mooresville, NC.
Also buried in the cemetery are Walter Bell (1774-1844) and his wife Hannah Ross (1774-1838). They were my 3rd great grandparents.
James Bell (d. 1819/20) had married, as his first wife, Isabella Storey in Rowan Co. in 1769. She was the daughter of James Storey, Planter, of Rowan Co., NC, who died in 1762.
I am interested in comparing notes, and learning anything I can about Elizabeth/Alizabeth Bell Alexander.
