Kind of late in responding to you, regarding the children of Fielding Alexander and Rhoda Wallace, but I can help some: I'm a 5th generation descendant, through their son John Fielding Alexander, who moved to Texas - same area as your Mary Polly Wallace Yates and George Yates, and Michael's James Alexander - Cooper, Tx.It was then called "Shiloh" - a small community in Delta County.
I was given [by an Alexander cousin long ago] a copy of page 26 from the 1889 "Biographical Souvenir of Texas" book [contains biographical sketches] and lists John Fielding, as son of Fielding and Rhoda. It notes Fielding as a native of Hempstead County, Ark. - prominent agriculturist, active in public affairs, and an active member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, until his death in 1846.It lists their sons [Fielding and Rhoda's] as:James A., Henry B. and John F.And it notes Rhoda's father as James A. Wallace. There is also a small booklet called "Shiloh Pioneers," written by various family members of those buried at Shiloh Cemetery.John F. and wife, Martha A. Miller Alexander are buried there, with a few of their children.I don't have a complete list of their children - just the following: John Fielding Alexander, Jr. 1883-1901 Ollie Alexander Fannie Alexander Moore Cora Belle Alexander Miller [my great-grandmother] Ida J. Alexander Nelson Flavia Alexander I think they had two more sons, but not sure.
Do you have any information you can pass on regarding Rhoda Wallace's parents / ancestors? All I have is her father. In reviewing some of the forum messages, there seem to be a lot of Wallaces sprinkled in with the Alexanders here and there! Also, anything you may have gleaned regarding ancestors of Fielding will be much appreciated.
By the way, for others on the forum, the same page from the biographical souvenirs of Texas book, lists a couple of other Alexanders: 1)Horace C. Alexander, born 1842 in Kentucky, son of Clinton C. and Mary A.(King)Alexander. 2)Charles H. Alexander, born 1858, Lincoln Co, TN, of George W. and Mary J.(Shores)Alexander.
