Hezekiah Julius Alexander, son of Elias and Keziah
For the life of me, I've hit a brick wall (as many Alexanders have) in my genealogical research and I'm hoping someone out there has information on a Hezekiah Julius Alexander (born 1800/1809 and died in 1873).
Hezekiah Julius was the son of Elias Alexander and Keziah Alexander (2nd cousins it appears).Elias was born in 1750 and he died sometime after 1820.Keziah was born in 1774/1777 and she died in 1819.My research shows that their two children were born out of wedlock (and they never got married).
Right now its speculation that Hezekiah Julius is my g-g-g-grandfather.At some point in his life, probably around 1849, he and his family moved to Tennessee and settled in Madison county (in Western TN).
Hezekiah and his family show up in the 1850 census for Madison county, but then they show up in the 1860 census for Macon County in North-Central Tennessee (I'm not sure they moved to Macon - they were perhaps visiting because Hezekiah Julius shows up once again as dying in 1873 in Madison County).
My g-g-grandfather was Harvey M. Alexander (don't know what the M. stands for) who was born in 1850 and died in 1929.Harvey was born in Tennessee and some of his census results say his father was born in Tennessee and one other says his father was born in Kentucky.
I can speculate for him is Hezkiah Julius as being his father. Its only speculation due to Hezkiah Julius living in Madison county, where Harvey M. lived, in 1850 (when Harvey was born).
Harvey M. does NOT show up on the 1850 or 1860 census as being a child of Hezekiah Julius. Its probable that there were cousins of Hezekiah Julius living in Tennessee in the 1840s and 1850s (which is maybe why he moved way out there from North Carolina to begin with).
I've tried for over a year to find any of Hezekiah Julius's descendents (no luck at all). Now I'm just curious of Hezekiah Julius's cousins that were either living in Kentucky or Tennessee around the time.
Does anyone have Hezekiah Julius in their family tree?He is the grandson of Hezekiah Alexander (who's homesite, built in 1774, still stands in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina).
I'd appreciate any information anyone could give. Thanks!
