Hello Cousin, you are correct. Keziah Alexander was the daughter of Hezekiah Alexander by his wife, Mary Sample. Keziah was the mother of two sons Hezekiah Julius and Ezekial Alexander by Elias Alexander. In Raleigh (C.R. 65.020) dated 1821, there is a court order for Elias Alexander to pay to Joel, Exr. of Heziah, dec'd, an allowance in case of bastardy to benefit Hezekiah J. Alexander, illegitimate child of Keziah, charged by her to be begotten by Elias. Elias is believed to have been the son of Arthur Alexander.
The family tree of Hezekiah who signed the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence is as follows:
John Alexander b. 1587 in Scotland, d. 1665 Raphoe, County Donegal, Ireland
William Alexander b. 1614, d. 1668 Raphoe, County Donegal, Ireland.
Joseph Alexander, b. c1659 Raphoe, County Donegal, Ireland, d. c1730 New Munster, Cecil County, Maryland. Joseph married Jane McKnitt, daughter of John and Elizabeth (Wallace) McKnitt.
James Alexander b. 1695 Manokin Hundred, Somerset County, Maryland, d. 1779 Cecil County, Maryland. James married his cousin, Margaret McKnitt, b. 1693 Manokin Hundred, Somerset County, Maryland, d. 1736/45, New Munster, Cecil County, Maryland. Margaret's maternal grandmother was Elizabeth Alexander who married Matthew Wallace. So you descend from a second Alexander. Elizabeth and Joseph Alexander were brother and sister, children of William Alexander of Raphoe, Ireland.
Hezekiah Alexander b. 1722 New Munster, Cecil County, Maryland, d. 1801 Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. Hezekiah married Mary Sample, daughter of William A. Sample and Esther Garrison. Mary was b. 1735 North Carlina and d. 1805 Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.
Keziah Alexander b. 1774 probably in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina and d. 1819 Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. She had a relationship with her cousin, Elias Alexander son of Arthur Alexander. Elias was b. about 1750, d. 1820.

I hope the above information helps you in your research. DNA testing proves Joseph and Samuel Alexander were brothers. There were seven other possible siblings and we're (a group of Alexander researchers descending from these 9 children) are trying to find Alexander relatives who might consider submitting their DNA to prove these relationships.
Best wishes in your research,
Dennis W. Simpson
