Roger, since James the Weaver cast doubt on his sibling relationship to Joseph and Samuel Alexander. Have you checked his relationship between James to Andrew Alexander? Bill Alexander did a DNA test years ago and he descends from Andrew's son Elias Alexander. Does Andrew connect with Joseph and Samuel Alexander? Do we have any volunteers submitting their DNA from Francis, John and William Alexander? It appears John did not have male heirs, only had one daughter by Mary Barbary so his line can't be done.
As I understand it, James the weaver may not be a sibling to Joseph and Samuel Alexander. Does that rule out a cousinal relationship?
I note that several researchers claim James the weaver was one of the original purchasers of land in Cecil County, but the documents I read says James the Farmer (son of Samuel Alexander) was one of the original purchaser. How did the two men get mixed together?
