Roger, thank you for your explanation on this. I had to read it a couple times to fully understand, but I think I got it.
Hopefully I can get this right. With the new DNA tester coming in on David Alexander's line, (I am presuming it is David Alexander the Weaver, born 1680) to James the Weaver. It proves James the Weaver is still a brother to both Samuel and Joseph Alexander. David is Helen Smith ancestor, and her research is very well documented. The test done on James the Weaver's son James Jr., have a generation missing in their research papers. The records of these Alexander's seem to be guesswork in making a connection to James the Weaver and will have to be research further to strenghten their claim of descent to the weaver.
