Here are some Bible records, courtesy of Judith. Some of this information
has already crossed my screen today, so I know that there are some
descendants out there. I personally like record 132 since there is a
Johnston Allison in it.

Robert Allison, Esquire and Sarah Turner were married July 15, 1779. Robert
Allison was 25 when married and Sarah was 24 when married.
Hugh Allison landed in America September 13, 1735, age 22 years. Died March

Family record sheets torn from an old Bible owned by Mr. Robert H.
Alexander's father, which is the family record of Mr. Eliz O. Alexander and
family, have been kep in Bible of Mr. Rob't H. Alexander since the death of
his father. This family record was given by Mr. Eli O. Alexander to his son
and by him to his son: Robert H. Alexander, 1320 10th Street, Oklahoma

Eli Oliver was married to Margaret M. Barry, which was then the widow of
Thomas Allison, February 26, 1828.

132. Elizabeth Allison Ervin Family Bible
Bible is in the possession (1963) of the Honorable Samuel J. Ervin, U.S.
Senator from North Carolina, whose home is Morgantown, NC. Copy of record
and notations were sent to M.L. Ervin by Miss K. Julia Ervin, Darlington,
SC; the parenthetical comments are Miss Julia's.
Frontspiece: "Imprinted at London by Robt. Barker, Printer to Kings Most
Excellent Majesty. Annp. 1613."
This Bible has no section for births, marriages, deaths but blank page was
used to record the following:
"My Father, Robert Allison, passed 1772. (The name during long years has
been spelt Allyson, Ellison, Elison, Allison). My mother was Mary Lide or
Lloyd (daut. to Robert Lloyd from Wales to Penn. abt. 1683). My
grandparents were John Allison and Elizabeth Matthews of VA. He being the
son of Robt. and Ann Myhill. He being son of Capt. Robt. Allison and Hannah
Garard of Maryland and VA. He being son of Robt. Allison and Sarah Spence
of VA. He being son of John Allison, Ellison b. Windyedge County, Lanark,
Scotland who marr'd with Ellin Hamilton and came to Virginia in early days
before 1625. The first ones of our family lived in VA and Maryland. I
hereby name my bros. and sisters:
(1) Brother Matthew and Mary were married 1743 and their offspring were:
Joseph, Robt. b. 1752, Elizabeth, James, John b. 1762 m. Lucy Erwin and John
Jr. m. Tabytha Spence.
(2) Bro. Robert 1720-90 lived in Cheraw, Laurens m. Elizabeth Scott 1740.
Offspring: Robt., James. Bro. Robt. m. 2nd 1766 Frances Avant. Offspring:
Joseph, Saml., Francis, Lewis, Watson. Daus.-Robt. Jr. b. 1741 m. Mary
Jonathan Johnston and eldest Johnston m. Mary Susan Pows (Powers?) - Lewis
m. Margt. Powers, and had 10 offspring - James m. Mary Kilgore, offspring -
James, John who b. 1774 m. Elizabeth Creswell - etc.
(3) Sister Mary m. 1751 Hugh Ervin Sr. (See Ervin Bible)
(4) Bro. John b. 1736 rem'd longer in VA. M. there 1765 Ann Creswell.
Offspring - J.J. m. Martha Pleasants, Wm. E. Creswell, James, Ann, Martha.
(5) Elizabeth, myself, m. 1744 John Ervin Sr. Our offspring - Elizabeth,
Sarah, James, Robert, John (Colonel), Margt., Jeans, Hugh and two died
young. (See Ervin History for descendants)
Both my husband and myself gave gratefully our time and services to our
country at the beginning of great struggle for Independence. I norsed the
Sick and John was Commissary Assembling medicines and Equipments. He never
lived to see Victory, but I did."
Note: The Bible of Col. John Ervin, son of Elizabeth Allison and John Ervin
Sr. gives under marriages those of his parents and his uncle and aunt, Hugh
Ervin and Mary Allison (3) above as "John Ervin, Esq. entered Holy Estate of
Matrimony with Elizabeth, daughter to Robert Allison (Ellison) Esq. at 11 AM
on 28th December 1744/5 by Rev. John Rae. Hugh Ervin married with Mary
daughter to Robert Allison (Ellison) on 29th December 1751 on Sabbath.
Among the deaths, Col. John Ervin recorded the following: John Ervin or
Irvine my honored father parted this life at 12 o'clock of the day on 18th
March 1773. Robert Allison (Ellison) Esq. my grandfather passed on 1st May
1772. Elizabeth Ervin my loving grandmother and consort to John Ervin Sr.
passed about midnight 18th November 1795, lamented by family and community.
ELSEWHERE THERE IS A NOTE THAT ELI OLIVER'S WIFE WAS MARGARET MARTHA BARRY, DAUGHTER OF JOHN AND ELIZABETH WATSON BARRY.
