This is not my line, but I thought it would help someone:
From Middle TN Journal of Gen. & History, Vol 18.4, pg 167:
"Supreme Court Records, Box 73, 1843 - Martha Alexander vs Nathaniel Perry & James Perry, Original Bill heard in Warren Co., TN Chancery Court:Bill of Complaint of Martha Alexander a citizen of Warren Co. against Nathaniel Perry and James Perry, also citizens of said county, defendants.Your Oratrix would shew that on 1st day of June 1839 your Oratrix together with Samuel Alexander Silas Alexander ____ [blank] Alexander Alexander (sic) children of your Oratrix and heirs at law of William Alexander, deceased, of whom your Oratrix is widow and relect sold to Nathaniel Perry, Deft., etc. the following tracts of land in Warren Co. on the Barren Fork of Collins River..." (abstract ends here; there is no punctuation between the children's names above).
As a P.S., Alexander Kin, Vol 2, pg 274 gives an abstract of the will of William Alexander, Warren Co., TN, dated 27 July 1831, pr. 3 Oct 1831 and it mentions his wife, Martha (200 acres), and at death to be sold and divided between "our children".Also mentioned in the will are James H. Alexander (200 acres) and balance to Houston Alexander. Also, same volume, is a deed for Silas Alexander, Feb 1813, of Warren Co., TN from John A. Wilson, land on Barren Fork of Collins River; joins William Alexander.
I don't know who this William Alexander and wife Martha are, but was wondering if they were from the Mecklenburg Co., NC group?
