I know it's been 10 years since the last post on this site, but I thought I would respond anyways. I too was unable to find any further information after Benjamin Alexander of Effingham, the information posted here was very helpful for me because I had heard stories from my grandfather Robert Alexander about his family in Reidsville, and how our family was descendents of royalty, their was also a story that we were related to a general in the revolutionary war, which the only general I've been able to find is General William Alexander who was also called Lord Stirling, we are related to him, but I'm not sure yet where in our family tree he is. I've tried piecing together the pieces for years, but the Alexander's were such a large family and during the 1700's were located in a few different states. Knowing that we are descendents of the presbyterian minister have been so helpful! I recently found an article that lists many of the more well known and well established Alexander's and I remember reading about a presbyterian minister, so this will greatly help me in piecing together the family tree. If anyone wants access to the website I was referring to go to http://www.archive.org/stream/alexanderfamilyr00clem/alexanderfamilyr00clem_djvu.txthttp://www.archive.org/stream/alexanderfamilyr00clem/alexanderfamilyr00clem_djvu.txt If anyone wishes to contact me please email me at RebekahMae19@aol.com.
