There is one point . . . does it make sense that Ally Wilson married Solomon Lucas on 27 Jan 1855 and then a mere two days later married Samuel Smith on 29 Jan 1855? Something is wrong here, don't you think?
Do you have a copy of actual marriage licenses?or returns? Were these in Brown Co? i found a Solomon Lucas 44 KY living in Adair Co Iowa with wife Mary 40 KY and children Thomas 17 IN, Polly 15 IN, Joseph 11 IN, Deborah 8 IN, and Martha 3 & Margaret 1 both born Iowa. And a Solomon Lucas 63 NC living Clear Creek Twp, Monroe Co IN (not far from Brown county line) with Jane 46 SC, and Albert 39 IN also in household are Synthia Parsons 32 IN (housekeeper) her kids Zachariah 11 & Sarah 9, Elizabeth McLamis (sp) 16, and John Loyd 29 IN carpenter.
IN Monroe Co IN (Salt Creek Twp) is Samuel Smith 59 VA and Alay 42 E TN, James R Wilson 11 IN, and Elijah S Smith 4 IN.
Possibly the Solomon Lucas was a witness or bondsman for the marriage? Could be mis-transcribed.
Do you know when Sam or Alley died? Her son James or their son Elijah? The only Elijah Smith i've found so far is 16 b IN living in MI with a family - working for them driving - they're from England. Also on Find-a-grave lists a Samuel Smith buried in Oakland MI born 1801 died 1878.
