Ebenezer Alexander of Hopkins County, KY - DNA results

By Floyd Owsley May 02, 2012 at 03:54:30

Recently, direct male descendants of Ebenezer Alexander (born between 1740-1750) of Hopkins County, KY, submitted to Y-Chromosome DNA testing. The results revealed that Ebenezer's descendants did not match with the South Carolina Alexanders. The DNA results showed that Ebenezer's descendants matched closely with descendants of Oliver Alexander, James Alexander, William Alexander, and Jeremiah Alexander. All of these Alexanders (probably brothers) migrated from Pennsylvania to Augusta County, Virginia, to Washington County, Virginia and then East Tennessee. Some later moved to middle Tennessee, Alabama, and Kentucky.
