William,
I found this on the internet at: http://williamalexanderlordsterling.com/Geneology_Records.htmlhttp://williamalexanderlordsterling.com/Geneology_Records.html
In these brewers logs were found more of the family tree and how one James Alexanders son's, Thomas William
Alexander ended getting his son, Thomas Oliver Alexander into Medical School at the University of Pennyslvania.
In a letter addressed to the grandson John Penn, it was reminded that James Grandfather, William Alexander had helped William Penn when he had traveled through New York during the American Revolution (the letter did not say what the help was) and that James Alexander would be most grateful if the Penn family would assist in getting Thomas William Alexander
son, Thomas Oliver Alexander admitted to Medical School.
James Alexander was married in Oswego New York in 1830 at age 29. His wife was his
childhood sweetheart, Katherine who was born in Albany in 1810. She was 20 years old at
the time of their marriage. They had three children. Katherine died during child birth in 1840
and James never remarried
Robert Alexander, born 1831 and died 1900 at Washington DC.
Robert had two daughter, Rebeca and Mary.
David Alexander, born 1835 and died 1903 at New York City, New York
David had no children and never married.
Thomas William Alexander, born 1840 and died in 1899 in Pennsylvania.
Thomas married Hattie (Meriott) of Falls Church, Virginia in 1875
They had a son named: Thomas Oliver Alexander born 1876 and died in 1947
Thomas Oliver Alexander was admitted to medical School in 1894 and graduated with honors in 1896.
I have been told there is a plaque honoring the achievements of Dr. Thomas Alexander somewhere on the grounds
of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr Alexander graduated from Medical School when he was 20 years old in June of 1896 and married a month later in July 4th, 1896. He married Josephine Garrison from Philadelphia. They had one child and named him Thomas Garrison Alexander as Josephine was the last child of Joseph Garrison and was always concerned about the family name ending with him.
Dr. Alexander move his wife and family to Dade county Florida where he bacame a horse and buggy doctor accepting pigs and chickens for payment of delivery of babies and such. He became County Assessor and also County Treasurer of Dade County Florida. He had four children:
The oldest was Alberta Alexander, born in 1898 and married Bert Groom in the twenties. Alberta was educated at the University of Florida and became a School teacher. There is a Groom who authered the book Forrest Gump but unsure if it is any relationship. Alberta died in 1950 after being a school teacher for some thirty years.
The second was Grace Alexander who married William Norton. Grace was Dean of Women at the University of Flordia and held a Doctorate degree granted during the depression. She was born in 1900 and died at Fort Lauderdale Florida in 1985.
She had no children. William Norton died within two years of marriage and she never remarried.
The Third child of Dr. Alexander was Chester Alexander who was born in 1905. He spent his career as Chief Mechanic of Pam America Airlines and retired in 1959 in Miami Florida. He died within a year of the death of his brother Thomas and was burried in Miami, Florida in 1986. He had two children, Joyce Alexander and Irene Alexander.
Irene Alexander spent a career as stewardess (now called flight attendents) at Delta Airlines out of Florida.
The Fourth Son was named Thomas Garrison Alexander and was born at Dade County, Florida on March 19. 1912 and died on his birthday, March 19, 1985 in Phoenix, Arizona. He spent his career at the Coca Cola Bottling Company. He had three Children, Thomas Garrison Alexander II of Florida, Grace Alexander of California and William Alexander of Mesa, Arizona.

William was raised in Phoenix Arizona where he attended Arizona State University recieving degrees in Business Adminstration from the College of Business in Tempe Arizona.
In 1971 he baecame a Mason and also was invited into the Knights Baronet of Nova Scotia where he traced his family roots all the way back to Scotland and the First Earl of Stirling. He married Constance Jean McBroom in Tempe Arizona on October 24, 1969. They have Six children; He is currently presiding over the peerage of Counselors of Knights Baron of N.S. And is Keeper of the Official Books and Records.
