I would be very interested in learning what information you have about the Silas Alexander you reference.I believe him to be the father of Silas Newton Alexander whom I thought may be the one in Fayette County in 1840.Your Silas was born 1791 in either Logan County , KY, according to his widow (Sophia Spangler Alexander)in applying for pension or Allen Co, KY based on what other internet sources state. The Silas you reference first married Ester (Esther) Graham in 1811 in then Warren Co. TN.They moved to Lawrence Co. AL.They had at least 2 children Silas Newton being the older (oldest).Esther died abt 1828 in Lawrence or Morgan Co., AL, and her widower Silas moved back to TN and later married Sophia Spangler. They resided on Cannon Co., TN although often in his affidavits, Silas would give his address as Manchester, TN (go figure).
You can get a copy of all his documents on "bifold" which I have access to through the Huntsville City Library website on my computer, and your Nashville library would have the same, I'm sure.
According to my gg grandmother's widow's pension affidavit, Silas was a witness at my grandparent's (John & Lydia Rushing Graham) wedding.I believe there is a strong possibility that Silas' first wife Esther may have been John's sister.I'm very interested in the Readyville connection where John enlisted with Capt. Brandon to fight in the Creek Indian War of 1813.
I will gladly share any info I have. Please let me know where you found your information.
