Tom,Thanks for your response to my message!I have never seen reference to a James Alexander who married Elizabeth Weems in Clark County, Indiana.I have, however, seen the marriage record of James Weems and Elizabeth Alexander who married in 1821 in Clark County, Indiana. These are my 3rd great grandparents.I know a lot about the family of James Weems, but almost nothing about the family of Elizabeth Alexander.I know that they lived at Alexander's Mill, Bracken County, KY during the time that their children were being born.I know that the mill was owned by someone by the name of William Alexander ( how related? I don't know ).I now have strong evidence that Elizabeth's parents were James Alexander (b.in VA, fought in the Rev. War, died in Bracken Co., KY in 1812) and Elizabeth Long.I also know that James Weems (my 3rd gr. grandfather also had a son named James Weems - which one was named in the will? I don't know ) was included as a "nephew"in the Bracken County, KY will of Margaret Alexander, who also names her brothers and brothers-in-law.So, there has to be a connection to this Alexander family.I know that my Elizabeth Alexander Weems eventually moved to Waynesville, Bartholomew Co., Indiana with her youngest son, Dr. Robert Long Weems (b. abt 1839), where she died. This death place is written about by family members who wrote a short history in the late 1800's; I have been unable to establish a death date and place of burial.I am so interested in finding out more about this Alexander family! Thanks again!
