I have always thought that the Josiah Alexander who left Maryland and came to Mecklenburg County, NC was the son of Daniel Alexander. I descend from this Josiah- but perhaps you are tracing a different one.

Who were the children of your Josiah?
I would be interested to know.
Also, how did Martin fit into the other Alexanders from Cecil County, Maryland?
