Hi Joann, Is the book "House of Alexander" still in print. I am having a hard time connecting my Alexander family to the ones who came in the early and middle 1700's. My ancestor (4th great-grandfather) Thomas Alexander came from Ireland to America in 1772. According to his pens.app.for the Rev. War. Pens.Appl. r90 He was born in 1752 in Ireland One member of my familynow deceased states in a book about our branch that he always heard from the older generation that Thomas was from Dublin. Thomas had 2 brothers named George and William and one sister Jane. who married Robert McWhorter of Bucks Co. Pa. Thomas's brothers and sister were all older then him. He lived in Lempeter Twp. Lancaster Co. Pa during the war and after the war lived for a time in the town of Shippensburg Pa. in Cumberland Co. were he married his first wife Mary Barr. They had one son William who died in the early 1800s in Washington Co. Indiana. Thomas later moved to Sullivan Co. Tn. were he married his second wife named Sally (Sarah?) King. They had sons James M., Thomas,(my 3rd gr-grandfather), Granville C. and John H. Alexander. They possibly had a son named George Alexander also. Have you ever run across this family in your genealogicalstudies? Hope to hear from you. Tom Alexander in Indiana.
