I found a James Edward Alexander b.16 Dec 1876, d. 24 Aug 1899 and buried in Valley Creek Cemetery, Dallas Co., Ala. I feel confident that he is probably the son of Josiah & Mary Ann (Osburn) Alexander. But, perhaps his birth date is wrong as mom would have been old when he came along.Anyway, watch and see if what I found is of any interest.
In the above cemetery there are 5 graves. All but James Edward belongs to one family.Josiah and Angeline Antoinette (Burford) Alexander had dau. Elizabeth Angeline Alexander b. 1846 m. McCurdy. She d. 1891.Angeline Antoinette Buford Alexander d. 1854 at age 23(wife of Josiah). They m. in 1845.Josian m. (2) Mary Ann Osburn b. 1818, d. 1900. Josiah b. Meck, NC, 1813 d. 1892.Josiah is son of James Sample & Elizabeth Davidson (McCracken) Alexander (1787-1878 & 1788-1827, respectively.
As I said, all are clearly identified but James Edward Alexander, but obviously, he is a family member. But, a birthdate somewhere is probably wrong or Mary had him when she was over 50.
Incidentally, since you are from Cabarrus Co., NC, you might like to know that we have a relative, David Daniel Shelby, who m. Josiah's sister, Prudence Morrison Alexander...both children of James Sample & Elizabeth (McCracken) Alexander.David Daniel Shelby is son of Moses & Mary Ann (Knox) Shelby.Moses' parents were Dr. Evan Shelby & Susannah Polk (Alexander) Shelby.More if interested. Good luck.Mac Alexander.
P.S.My internet explorer is down on my home computer so that is why I have not answered your inquiry.Peace. Mac.
