My quest has been to find the parents of my gggrandmother, Rachel Alexander, born March 19, 1804.She married Larken Coffer in St. Francois County, MO on Aug. 17, 1826 and died March 8, 1855. These facts all come from her daughter's Bible.
In the 1850 census of St. Francois County, MO, her birthplace is listed as NC, and it is also shown as NC in her daughter's Bible, and again in the 1880 census.
However,in the censuses of 1900, 1910 and 1920, her daughter gives her mother's birthplace as Indiana!
Could this be a clue that, although she was born in NC, Rachel Alexander's parents had moved to Indiana?I don't know what to make of it.
