Hi Betty:Sorry, I could not find a tie-in to my line, but I have seen the name Boyce before in my work.I will look in some of the other files and let you know if there is anything there, but probably not.
I did find the marriage bond record between a Wm. P. Alexander and Susan P. Griffith ("P"). It was taken out 3 Nov 1857, and she was a resident of Mecklenburg Co., NC.Bond was made by a John Phelan.Witness was W.K. Reid.Another note:m. 03 by F. M. Ross, JP.I suppose they could marry the same day, but your date is 05.
The only other thing that I found for a Wm. P. was the Will of Andrew Springs 1860.He named Wm. P. Alexander and Samuel W. Gillespie, and a grandchild of his deceased daughter Elizabeth V. Gillespie.(I wondered if he was not talking about an Elizabeth(Gillespie) Springs?I.e., His aughterinlaw. But then, the Wm P. here if yours would have been only about 3 years of age. But, that is o.k. as an heir.Sorry.Mac Alexander.
