Here is a statement that my mom had received from a research writer."Hathaway(fourth Great Grandfather) m. 24 April 1803 by bond in Fauquier Co., VA to Mary "Polly" McDonald(fourth great grandmother), daughter of Jared McDonald. In 1810 Hathaway was in Loudoun Co.In 1830 he was in Frederick Co., and in 1840 in Clarke County. In 1850 he was still in Clarke Co.Some of the northern Virginia Alexanders came from around Gloucester Co., VA.with the proximity of (PA), there are so many lines rooted there." Hathaway owned land that was later bought out in White Post, Frederick Co., VA.I guess that we have a family grave in White Post in someone's back yard.We just don't know who's buried there, and we don't know what happened to our William. William Alexander,(third Great Grandfather), had a son named George Washington Alexander(second Great Grandfather also born in Virginia), that fought as a confederate in the civil war. Then he had my Grandpa, George Edmund Alexander. We think our William fought in the Revolutionary War.We also think that our George W. was given bounty land in Kentucky for fighting in the civil war as well as many of our cousins.(Kentucky was actually a part of Virginia, and we don't know what happened to the land if he sold it or what.) No one knows about our family yet. There are writers, including myself, who have and are working on it.That is why I want to get our names out there.I just am trying to uncover our brick walls before I do so. If you have for info on that family, I would love to share.I have 16 William Alexanders in my family that I have done extensive research on.(They couldn't have been anymore original with that name could they?!)I will share all of what I have.Let me know!
