Alexander>NC>SC>GA>AL
Would love to find information on family of Joseph Alexander, born abt. 1808 in NC (unsure of county or parents), moved to SC and married Sarah (UNK),(born in SC abt. 1812). Joseph and Sarah married abt. 1834 and had two and maybe three sons born in SC..maybe a Benjamin, but definitely Joseph (b. 1840.) and Columbus E. (b. 1844). The family moved to GA around 1847. There were two more children born in GA (Amanda, b. 1848 and William, b. 1859).Haven't found them on a census until 1860 Cass Co., GA.Joseph (b. 1840) was killed in Civil War. Columbus is the line I am tracing. Columbus married an Emily (UNK), born in GA about 1848.I have them on the 1870 Cass Co., GA census with children George W., Joseph J., Sarah J. and Amanda. On the 1900 census there were three more children: Columbus E. (1883), Emily L. (1888), and Susan A. P. (1893).Son, Joseph J. (Joel) is the line I am following. He married a Maggie Minerva Ivey, d/o Alvin B. Ivey and Minerva Herrin, and they moved to Franklin County, AL. They had the following children: Lendia Plonie, Holly Ulmus, Alvin E., Hubert, Ozella, I.J., Selena, Charlie, Pearl, Constance, and Francis.Does anyone have any information about Joseph Alexander (b.NC).There are so many Joseph Alexanders in that area and the early censuses don't really help.I have been unable to find a starting point with Joseph and his wife Sarah in SC either. I'd be most grateful for any help and will share what info I have.
