Maurine, This gets very confusing, so I'll try to keep things straight: Mary Jane Boggs's husband, William Harrison Morris was son of Richard J. and grandson of Doctor F. Morris who came to Elk Dist., Kanawha Co. from Bedford Co. in the 1840's.There is a brick wall.We feel there must be a connection to the early Kanawha Co. Morrises, but can't find anything past Doctor. So it seems only coincidence that Mary Jane married a William Morris. According to info given to me, lately, Mary Jane Alexander's mother was Roxalana Morris, dau. of Wm. and Polly Barnes Morris. Roxy was b. 1800 @Kelly's Creek and d. 1872 in Kanawha Co. Wm. was the son of Wm and Catherine Carrol Morris. And THAT Wm. was the son of Wm. and Elizabeth Stapp Morris (the first settlers). Joel Alexander was b. Aug. 8, 1801 in Bedford Co. VA (a connection to the other Morrises??) and married Roxy June 7, 1824 in Kanawha Co.He was son of Thomas and Sarah Huddleston Alexander. Thos. b. Feb. 17, 1774 in Bedford Co. and d. May 9, 1845 in Franklin Twp. Ohio (He didn't stay in WV very long) Sarah was dau. of Abraham and Mary Patterson Huddleston and was b. Sept. 26, 1785 in Bedford Co. VA and d. Oct. 6, 1850 in Ohio. That Thos. was son of Thos. and Mary Britton Alexander.I have no further info on them.
John and Cynthia also had sons Joseph, George W. and Henry F. Boggs.
