My grandmother's maiden name was Alexander and Hezekiah was my 6th great-grandfather.Here is the information I have from various sources.I only have info on one of his children.
HEZEKIAH ALEXANDER (JAMES3, JOSEPH2, JAMES1) was born January 13, 1721/22 in Cecil Co., MD, and died July 17, 1801 in Mecklingburg Co., NC.He married MARY SAMPLE 1752, daughter of WILLIAM SAMPLE and ESTHER (UNKNOWN).She was born Abt. 1735 in Chester Co., PA (?), and died May 17, 1806.
Notes for HEZEKIAH ALEXANDER: They moved to NC and built a stone house near Charlotte, which is open as a Museum.He was an ardant supporter of freedom and a signer of the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence on May 20, 1775.He served as Paymaster of the 4th Regiment of North Carolina.He was a magistrate, a member of the Mecklenburg Court, and treasurer of Queen's Museum.(Simpson County, KY - Families Past and Present, 1989.)
Both buried at: Sugaw(r?) Creek Presbyterian Church (ruling elder). Was the fifth of ten children, and had 8 sons and 3 daughters of his own..
