Mac, you mention Fayette County, TN. Have you in your research happened upon data about Alexanders other than those in your line? I'm interested specifically in a family who move there between 1848 and 1850. I have found them in Fayette on the 1850 census and some on the 1860 census.
The father was James C., born 1784-1786, and his son William's family relocated to Fayette with him. James also had John born about 1827, James R., born about 1830, and Nancy J., born about 1836.
William, born about 1819, was married to Aditha (listed as Abitha on the transcription of the 1850 census and some other documents), born 1817-1818. Two children in 1850 were James M., 2, and Olive G., under 1. Olive undoubtedly died young.
