Fran: Thanks for your response.Do you have the parents of the Cunningham girls who married Thomas W., James M, and David C. Alexander?
Russell Cunningham told me that Ann Cunningham married David C. Alexander. She was the daughter of James and Jane McWhorter Cunningham. She had four sisters, none of whom married Alexanders, so far as I can tell.
I have Leech cousins who married into both Alexanders and Cunninghams in Lawrence Co. 1.James E. Cunningham, son of Humphrey and Margaret Patton Cunningham of Bedford Co. TN, married Susan E. Leech in 1883 in DeSoto Parish LA.Humphrey was born in York Co. SC, as was Susan Leech's father, David Leech (my gg grandfather). Both of these families came through Lawrence, David Leech directly and James E. Cunningham via Bedford Co. TN.In 1835 James E. purchased at the estate sale of Susan's grandfather, John Leech. (Charles, I'll be glad to send you further particulars about that estate sale if you want them.)
Meanwhile, also in Lawrence Co., in 1874 William Samuel Alexander, son of William G. Alexander, married Sarah Pamela Ash, most likely named after her grandmother, Sarah Leech.
I would appreciate anything you can tell me about any of these people.I do have further data about the Alexander and Cunningham families in Lawrence and York Co. SC, and will be glad to share further.
