The only information I have on James, son of Moses who is son of James the weaver, is that he "married Mary Steel, daughter of James Steel, who died in 1751.My suggestion would be to look in Cecil County, MD, since that is where Moses died.Of the other children, Nathaniel moved to NC (probably Mecklenberg County); Abraham also removed to NC; Zebulon died in 1784 in NC; Mark removed to Baltimore when he engaged in shipping and Merchandising - few records on him; Mary Alexander married (probably) John White; Ruth Alexander married either John or James Dizzart or Dizard (in Moses' will); and Daniel Alexander died in Mecklenberg County NC in 1776.It is my guess that if there are no records in Annapolis (where Moses died)possibly Mecklenberg County, NC is a good place to start. If this James Steel was from Cecil County, MD, it's possible to research the Hall of Records, Annapolis, MD.The information on Moses was in Book 31, p. 820.However, the only mention of his son James was "I give and bequeth [sic] unto my well beloved son, James Alexander, the sum of five shillings."
Hope this helps.I try to pay back the wonderful help that I've received from various people.Good luck and I'd be interested in what you find.
