Hi, Kathryn.I have no info for you but let's pool our future info, cause we're probably related. I'm looking for a Thomas Alexander. He married Elizabeth Updegraft.Their names show up in Butler Co., PA, in 1841 in papers settling her father's (Isaac) Rev. War pension and later her mother's (Mary) will. Elizabeth's parents lived in Fayette Co. at the time she probably married but had connections to Washington and Butler Co., PA.Thomas' wife was Elizabeth Updegraft b. 1780s.Elizabeth's brother Abraham moved to Washington Co. between 1820 - 1840 and there are Alexanders living in both Washington Co. and Fayette Co. when the family is there.Abraham was in Muddycreek Twp., Butler Co., PA, by 1840, and he is located near Prospect, just north of the creek, so that he's in what becomes Worth Twp., but it looks on old maps like the road coming out of Prospect northbound past the old Baptist church and on to what now becomes Union or Mt. Union Church road.In 1840 Abraham has neighbors (all on two census sheets in a row) of Thomas Alexander aged 70-80, Ambrose Alexander aged 40-50, Thomas Alexander aged 20-30, Milo Alexander aged 80-90, and Archibald Alexander aged 20-30.Do any of those ring a bell with yours?
I can't find any wills or deeds for my Abraham, so I'm guessing he is living on land owned by Alexanders. In an 1870s map there is at least one parcel of Alexanders right there, and Abraham's son William had six daughters, most or all of which ended up in Lawrence Co., Shenango Twp. area, with a youngish Thomas Alexander living near them in about 1860, 1870 time frame.
