I actually doubt that the W. was for Wallace.
Although it appeared to read "W." on the census,
I have learned that his middle name was actually
Newton, and that that W. was either a mistake
or it was just an N. that I misread.

It turns out that this William was a Jr., and
that he and his brother Thomas'sfather was
William Newton Alexander, Sr.The children were
born just outside of Giddings, which was in
Washington Co., TX at that time.It later became
part of Lee Co.

Thomas and brother William then later show up
in Burnet Co. after they start their own families.
