Alexander-Manhattan, NY, Jewish family f/England
I don't know very much about my connection to the Alexander line.
My father, Martin L. Hubner's parents were Augusta (Marks) Hubner and Richard Hubner, born in New York, USA.My grandfather Richard Hubner's parents were Joseph Hubner, and Helena (Alexander) Hubner.I only just discovered that my GGrandmother Helena was born in England, but spoke Jewish tongue. This I learned from the 1920 Manhattan, NY (USA) census.I haven't been able to uncover anything else so far that will help me with this line of my family.I don't even know if my grandfather Richard had any siblings.Everything to date has only been paper trails that lead me to a dead end.
Does anyone know of a jewish speaking Alexander family that emmigrated to NY in the mid 1800's from England?
Thanks,
