Found cemetery transcription at usgenweb that includes the Alexanders. If he is the same Gains T. ALEXANDER who was spouse to Sarah and father to Willie, Emery, Calvin, Wiley, and William in the 1880 census, then he died in 1886.Stats from the transcription are birth 22-Feb-1817, death 31-Oct-1886, burial in Ruckersville UMC cemetery, Elbert Co, GA.This would end speculation about Sarah E. marrying Mr. GREENWAY.
Cemetery transcriptions include other ALEXANDERS.The following entries are also from the Ruckersville UMC Cemetery:
Wyley T ALEXANDER, born 08-Aug-1817, died 11-Jul-1895, and a note that he was the husband of Sarah E. BUTLER.
The transcription for Sarah E. ALEXANDER has birth 18-Feb-1817, death 06-Apr-1893, and a note that she was the wife of Wyley T. ALEXANDER.
These relationships do not match the censuses, although the birth date would be close for Wyley/Wiley.Perhaps these are a different Wyley with his wife Sarah?More research to be done!
