There is a link, although sideways, between the referenced siteand the marriage of Lawson Alexander and Jane (or Jenny) Barry Elliott that was mentioned back a posting or so. Family records refer to their marriage in NC in May 1823, even though Lawson's parents and siblings had moved from Spartanburg County, SC, to Roane County, TN, around 1810 (with a brief stop along the way, perhaps).
Lawson Alexander and Jane Elliot were the parents of William Lawson Alexander, the "ruling elder." The other Alexanders and most of the other people were Lawson's brothers and sisters or nieces and nephews. Jane B. Alexander was Jane Elliott, Lawson's widow, and I believe I have heard that Violett Elliott was her sister. Several of the people are buried in Crandall Cemetery near Lenoir City, TN.
If anyone has information on why this Lawson Alexander was in Mecklenburg County, NC, in 1823, his descendants would appreciate your sharing. (I am not one of the descendant, just their cousin.)Before her death, one of the relatives collected references to some deeds that suggest to me that Lawson's grandfather may have been one of the Alexanders who settled Anson County, NC, before parts of it were broken off to Rowen and Mecklenburg Counties in NC and some disputed territory went to Spartanburg County, SC.
