I am interested in information regarding the Alexander family of Clark County, Kentucky as I am attempting to determine if they have any relationship to my Alexander ancestor(s) who lived in Garrard County, Kentucky around 1800.
From a book entitled "Land of our Fathers: Volume 1 of a History of Clark County, Kentucky," by A. Goff Bedford (1977), I found the following Alexanders listed as Revolutionary War soldiers:
"Benjamin Alexander, Sr., killed by Indians and eaten by wolves; James Alexander; John Alexander, Sr."
Does anyone have information regarding these Alexanders?Does anyone know when and where Benjamin Alexander was killed?
Additionally, the following Alexanders are found in Clark County 1793 - 1795 tax lists (years listed to the right of the names):
Alexander, John (1793, 1794, 1795) Alexander, Randle (1793, 1795) Alexander, Randol (1793) Alexander, Thomas (1793, 1794, 1795) Alexander, William (1793, 1794, 1795) Alexander, Wilson (1793) Alexander, James (1794,1795) Alexander, Randolph (1794, 1795) Alexander, Randolph, Jr. (1794)
Does anyone have information regarding these Alexanders.Did this Alexander family have any connections with the Lampton family also living in Clark County, Kentucky?
