Marie: One branch was: Lt. Col. Moses Alexander, born 1735, Cecil County, Md., son of William Alexander and Jane Taylor, he married Sarah Alexander, ("a cousin of some degree unknown"), and moved to Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. He was the "Kings Quartermaster for the colony of North Carolina" and died just before the beginning of the Am. Revolution. They had Nathaniel, William, Mark, Mary, Wallace and Sally. Moses' widow, married General Robert Smith and had a son named Robert Smith. William, Nathanieland Mark were Officers in the Revolutionary War. William and Nathaniel were in the Continental Line. Wallace was too young for service.
